Traditional Craftsmanship Built to Last

I’m Rob Johnson, a DSWA-qualified professional dry stone waller and stone dresser based in Yorkshire, working throughout the UK.

Growing up on a farm in Derbyshire, I developed an early appreciation for dry stone walls, the countryside and the traditional skills behind them. Today, I’m passionate about keeping this heritage craft alive, combining traditional techniques with a careful eye for detail to create walls and stone features that are built to last.

My work ranges from traditional field and boundary walls to garden features, restoration and bespoke dry stone structures. I work closely with landscapers, garden designers and private clients to create work that sits naturally within its surroundings, whether using original stone, carefully sourced reclaimed stone or new stone from local quarries.

As a professional member of the Dry Stone Walling Association, I’m actively involved in promoting and developing the craft and am currently working towards DSWA Master Craftsman status.

Every wall has its own character. I take pride in creating work that is built with care, built to last, and made to belong.
